Mrs. Eckstrand’s Room
Last week our Jesus story was Samson. We learned that even when we sin, we can pray to God, and he will help us. "I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.” This week we are learning about Hannah, who continually prayed for a child and God gave her Samuel. Our memory treasure is "God...has heard my prayer." Psalm 66:19
In Movement we are throwing into targets.
For Art we will be leaf rubbing.
In Social Studies we talked about our city and state name. We're excited to share our home pictures.
Preschool: Our letter last week was Aa. This week it is Ll for leaf, lion, lego. Our number is 10 "long line down, around again, that's the way we make a 10".
Kindergarten: We finished our computer tests, good job K! In Math we are learning the ordinal words for order counting and will have a chapter test. In Reading, met Alf who loves Adventures.
Funnies:
Learning about the 10 commandments: “What is Moses holding?” "2 stone ipads" Well if you're TABLET is an apple...
After a fire drill we began talking about building the new school and learned what one child's plans will be in April… "When they start building, I'm just going to get a chair and sit down and watch them (construction crew). Then when it gets dark, I'll go to bed.”
The cold brought the first ice and frost to the playground. The Kids ran around and got so excited declaring "Frosting! Mrs. Nikki it's frosting!" Which was followed by "No, please don't lick the tires!" Caught them just in time.

In 1st grade Math we used addition to help us subtract. In Reading we recognized le spelling patterns, and encoded le words, identified rhyming words, and used antonyms.
In 2nd Math we showed different ways to read, write, and draw three-digit numbers. In Reading class, we associated ed with /ed/ /t/, and /d/, discussed when to use the ending -ed, and used adjectives and verbs in sentences.
In 3rd grade Math we used the distributive property and associative property to find a product when the multiple is 10 and multiplied multiples of 10 by 1-digit numbers. In Reading we are reading the novel “Sarah, Plain and Tall” by Patricia MacLachlan.
In Religion we discussed that the people in Capernaum were amazed by Jesus because he showed authority as God’s Son. We hear Jesus’ amazing message of salvation in God’s Word. We also heard how Jesus showed Peter and other disciples his power by giving them a huge catch of fish. We see that Jesus has power over everything.
