If before or after school care is needed (Latchkey) please let us know as soon as possible to schedule caregivers.
BASKETBALL PRACTICE BEGINS
Tuesday, November 29th is the first basketball practice of the season. A sign-up has been emailed to parents to help with driving to practice at the McLeod County Fairgrounds, if you haven’t already signed up, please take a look at the dates and sign-up for any days you can help.
Remember to pack good tennis shoes or basketball shoes, shorts and t-shirt, and a water bottle for practice.

CHURCH SINGING
Sunday, December 4th is our next opportunity to sing. We will be doing two smaller churches this day. First is Zion Lutheran Church just outside of Hutchinson, church starts at 8:45 so please be there by 8:30 – families can stay for the whole service. Next is St. Peter’s near Darwin, church there starts at 10:30 so please be there by 10:20 – families can leave right after the children sing.
10:00 START / PARENT DRIVE MORNING
Wednesday, December 7th is our next 10:00 start and parent drive MORNING.

PTF MEETING
Monday, December 12th is our next meeting at 6:30, all are welcome to attend!
We will be voting on positions and discussing our next activities/fundraisers.
SCHOLASTIC BOOK ORDERS
Orders are due next Monday, November 28th. Scholastic book orders have been sent home. This will be the only order we do before Christmas so if you have any books you'd like to order for gifts please do so. We should receive them and hand out before Christmas break. You can order books online or return to school the paper order form along with a check made out to Scholastic Book Club. Ordering is completely optional!
GIFT CARDS – RAISE RIGHT
This program is great for Christmas gifts! If you are planning on gifting money this Christmas, please order gift cards through this program. The deadline in order to receive them before Christmas is Sunday, December 11th. Scrip is a great way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards in place of cash, checks, and credit cards and the school receives money back to put towards field trips and activities.
PROJECT BOOKSHELF
The Friends of the Hutchinson Public Library are sponsoring a program for distributing new books to children during the holidays. The program seeks to call attention to and support the importance of reading, and being read to, in the lives of children. Giving a child a book can be the introduction to an exciting world of adventure, discovery, and companionship. Reading and education are powerful weapons in breaking the cycle of poverty, but for many families, buying books is out of the question; they can’t afford it. Chimney-decorated drop-off box will be in the entryway of school with collection dates from November 1st to December 1st. The books will be distributed locally by United Community Action Partnership. Since these books will be Christmas gifts, they should be new books.
Money donations to purchase books are also welcome.
CHROMEBOOKS
We are updating our Chromebooks and therefore selling the old ones if anyone is interested, we have about 8 left. We are asking $25/computer. They were bought around 2015 and google will no longer update so some of the functions will not work any longer but they are still usable with internet and come with their charging cord.
If you would like to purchase one, please either bring cash or check made out to Immanuel Lutheran School and leave the payment on my desk in the secretary's office or give it to a teacher. The computers will be down by my office/library if you'd like to get one before or after school, make sure you grab a cord as well.
SCHOOLSTORE FUNDRAISER
If your family has not participated, there's still time!
