We got back into the swing of things after a fun break. This week we are learning about the desert. There is a lot of sand in the desert and not a lot of water. We are learning about desert animals and desert plants. The sensory table is filled with sand, desert animals and cactus with number matching on them. The science table is set up with a math game and balance frog’s game.
Our wow word this week is Bare. We are focusing on the letter Kk, number 6, coloring green, and shape triangle.
We are also learning about things that are opposite. We have opposite games at circle time and at the activity center.
At the activity center we are making fun shapes and numbers on GEO boards, building the letter Kk with popsicle sticks, and cactus letter matching.

The LORD is on my side, I will not fear. Psalm 118:6
K-1st: Mrs. Eckstrand
This week our Bible lessons are Mary and Martha, and Jesus blesses the children. We learned in both that Jesus and his word is the most important thing in our lives. We need to have faith like children by trusting Jesus for all our needs and worries. Luke 11:28 but he said, ‘Even more blessed are those who hear the word and keep it.’
In Math, 1st grade is adding and subtracting through forty. Kindergarten continues to make number bonds through 10.
In Reading, 1st grade is dropping e to add endings. Kindergarten finally met ALL the superkids, so the real adventure of "US" and the club begins.
In Art, we continue symmetry with butterflies.
In Science, we caught a rainbow and finished weather.
In Social Studies, we will finish our discussion on jobs and the marketplace.
In Writing, we are writing letters.
The children earned another ‘oh yeah’ prize day! We will be balling around with Donkey by letting him "land on and choose" what we do next throughout our day.
2-4th: Mr. Loersch
Hello Parents and Students!
In God's Word this week, we're learning lessons from Jesus as we study two parables: the bags of money (talents) and the workers in the vineyard. These stories from Jesus teach us valuable lessons about using our blessings shrewdly and remembering that our works are not the reason God saves us. We are blessed, and it is through God's grace alone!
In Language Arts, 2-4 is continuing our novel study. This prepares 2nd graders for the future as they use books to learn in Language Arts. 3-4th graders are starting work with Adverbs.
In Math, 2nd graders are continuing their mental math unit. 3rd graders began a new unit about data and graphs. 4th graders continue to work with fractions.
In Social Studies, we're wrapping up the Iditarod, discussing bracketology, and getting into the concept of short-term and long-term consequences.
In P.E. we are practicing underhand throwing for our beanbag unit. I am still looking to borrow cornhole sets! A few people have brought in sets, but a couple more would be super helpful. Thank you, and God's blessings on your week!
5-8th: Mr. Holz
