Mrs. Eckstrand’s Room
This week our Jesus story is "God sends the Holy Spirit". We learned that the Holy Spirit helped the disciples teach others about Jesus. He made it possible for the disciples to speak every language in order to teach every person about Jesus. We too have the Holy Spirit with us, and he helps us spread the good news to everyone. "Repent and be baptized" Acts 2:38 is our memory treasure this week.
In Science we learned more about the sun, moon, and stars.
In Social studies we walked to Wisconsin.
In Art we started our special mother's gift.
In Movement we are learning to catch from a partner.
Preschool: We are reviewing number 6 and 16. We are hip hopping to the alphabet. We are counting and coloring with dice.
Kindergarten: In Reading we are part of the superkids club and all the Nn noise on the bus. We will also learn how they control the activities in the club. In Math we are beginning to tell time.
Mrs. Utsch’s Room
In 1st grade Math we identified equal or unequal shares and partitioned shapes into halves and fourths. In Reading we read and spelled words with the oi and oy spelling pattern, identified adjectives and verbs, and recognized end punctuation marks.
In 2nd grade Math we solved two-digit addition and subtraction problems using an inch ruler as a number line. In Reading class, we read and spelled words with the long i spelling pattern with y and silent e at the end of a words and used comparative and superlative adjectives.
In 3rd grade Math we drew and categorized quadrilaterals and categorized plane shapes. In Reading we are reading the novel “The Mouse and The Motorcycle” by Beverly Cleary.
In Religion we heard how Jesus’ enemies lied about him because they didn’t want people to believe that he had risen. Lies cannot change the fact that Jesus rose from the dead. We gladly tell others the joyful news that Jesus rose from the dead. Jesus’ friends saw the empty grave and their risen Savior. Jesus had many people see that his grave was empty and that he was alive. We believe that Jesus came back to life and will raise us to life someday.
